Happy Birthday!

First, thank you to everyone who joined us (in a blizzard no less) for Emma Clare's second birthday party. Although spaces was tight in our house, it was so awesome to be surrounded by so much love! Emma Clare is one lucky girl! We had a great time partying the day away and eating yummy food. EC has so many toys now, she doesn't even know what to do! Can't wait for the weather to break to play with some of the outdoor toys!!

Fun Weekend

Ok, so the pics below don't really do the weekend justice, but I have a few better ones on my camera that I haven't uploaded yet. This weekend we had a blast. On Saturday I worked with a great service project, Project Linus. You can see more about the mission here: http://www.projectlinus.org/ but basically it is making blankets for children in the hospital or who have witnessed violence or tragedy. The chapter I worked with brought blankets to all of the students at Chardon High School after the shooting in February of 2012. The teachers told the organization that it was the first time they's seen many of the students after the shooting. That is some pretty powerful stuff! So needless to say it was an awesome two hours. During that time I cranked out 5 blankets with my partner!

Saturday evening Chris had a catering event that he was doing, so EC and I went out to dinner with Grandma, and then to our favorite destination, Target. Sunday we watched Frozen (well..Chris and I did and Emma Clare watched parts...) and had swimming Lessons. EC was the only kid not crying and went under several times and jumped off the side a whole bunch. She loves the water! All and All, great weekend!

Daddy's Hair!

Daddy officially has very little hair! I am relieved that he does not have a weird shaped head (I think I even like it!). EC was a little scared at first, I don't think she knew what to think. She now loves to rub his head and calls him fuzzy. So I guess it all worked out just fine!
Hmm...this seems like a good place to play.
No more long hair for daddy!

Almost 2?!

How is it that our sweet little baby is almost 2 years old? I do love this age though! Emma Clare is just too funny for words. She most certainty has an opinion, pretty much about anything. She lets you know what she thinks and what she wants. I guess these are good skills to have in order to be a strong female...this is what I'm going to keep telling myself at least. Some of her favorite phrases right now "No, I do it", "Don't touch it", "That's enough", "Want to play with me?" "I watch Tiger?"(Daniel the Tiger-her all time favorite TV show). I'm always amazed by the things she knows. I was cutting out shapes for her (circles, squares and triangles) and she was sorting them in the the appropriate piles this weekend and telling me what shapes I was handing her. It's crazy to me that she can do that (I'm sure this seems minor to others...). She is also able to count to 20 (1-12 very well, then sometimes 12-20...) and knows her ABCs. She is able to identify most pictures we show her and will repeat pretty much anything (Nana' learned this the hard way when she called Barbie a Ho...then asked EC what Barbie was and she responded, a Ho). She really struggles with colors-pretty much everything is yellow or green with a blue thrown in there and there. Alright enough bragging about my beautiful, smart girlie!

This weekend we had a great, chill weekend at home. EC had a play date with Elise (her BFF) and is finally starting to learn how to share-at least a little better. There was a point when Elise was crawling that EC wanted to ride her like a "horsy" and was very confused when I told here that this was not a good idea. She also slept without her zippy for the first time through the night Saturday and Sunday. So now we just have to break the other bad bedtime habits-paci and bottle. All in good time my friends...

Busy!

I think to say we've been busy in our household would be an understatement, so I'm sorry for no picture posts lately! Last weekend we took advantage of the awesome weather and went to the zoo, but I have to upload those pics off my camera. So, we have two bits of good news from this past week/weekend. Grandma Pat had her surgery and all went well-cancer free! Wahoo! We also moved in to our new house this weekend-pics soon I promise. EC spent her weekend with Nana getting nice and sugared up and her finger nails painted. She has been asking for Nana ever since...

Emma Clare is getting cuter and cuter, just thought you should know. I love the conversations we have on a daily basis. My favorite things she says now are "that's enough" (if you're doing something she doesn't want you to) and "that's all I got" (if you ask for extra kisses or hugs-she'll give you one, but that's all she's got!) I think life is going to start slowing down a bit for us-and I don't mind one single bit!
Sugared up and ready for a nap but oh so happy!

A weekend of Jordan! Celebrating the little guy turning 8!! Can't believe it!
