To say that we were blessed this Christmas would be an understatement. We were so happy to have Chris' mom here and be able to spend Christmas with our friends Dan and Ali and their kids. We wished that we got to see all of our family and friends! Emma Clare had a great Christmas. She had so much fun opening presents and playing with all of her new toys. She was all smiles all day. She had lots of yummy foods at Christmas Dinner (yams with maple glaze, green beans, mac and cheese...oh and ice cream). She was a great dinner guest and sat quietly and ate everything on her plate. What a little doll!

 

We look forward to see everyone as we head back to Cleveland in the new year! :)

Have I mentioned lately how cute Emma Clare is. She just makes me smile more and more each day. This weekend we had her Christmas photos taken (if you are really interested, you can check them out at searsphoto.com session #125213 password CJPGZ). She did such a good job, she is such a ham.

 

In other exciting news...we are headed back to Cleveland! I will be starting a new position at BW as a housing coordinator. I start on January 3rd. Chris will be joining us at the end of his school year (maybe before, we'll see.).

 

Lots of changes, but we are very blessed! 



Park!

This weekend we got to see our dear friends Nichole and August (and daughter Sophia). We all spent some time at the park. EC loves the swing and she went down the slide for the first time (with mom). Please try to ignore the scratch and bruise on her face...she is learning how to stand and took a bit of a tumble earlier. She is so stinking cute!

Feeding Myself!

Aww look at my little baby! This morning while I was getting ready, EC decided that she was ready to be awake. Daycare keeps telling me that EC feeds herself all the time (but she is just my little baby, so I never just give her the bottle at home). We'll I thought I'd give it a whirl. And she did it! Made my morning routine a lot easier, but I still don't know if I like it! This little girl is just growing up too fast! She's crawling, pulling up, feeding herself cheerios and other table foods and bottles! Where is my little baby!! I just love her to pieces though! :)

We had a fun weekend! We went to Paige's 4th birthday party-and there was a ball pit, EC was in love! I'm so glad our little girl is feeling better! We are on another round of antibiotics for her ear infections, and she is scheduled to get tubes in her ears on December 27th (Merry Christmas!)

 

 

As you can see from the pictures, Emma Clare is loving Cheerios and Lou Lou. Now that she can pull her self up, poor Lou has no place to hide. Emma Clare just loves pulling on this floppy ears! Good thing Lou Lou is a good sport about it!

So much to be thankful for this year! Look at our beautiful little girl, what is not to love! We had a great Thanksgiving with Grandma Claudia and Uncle Adam. Chris made bacon wrapped Turkey-it was to die for! And now that Thanksgiving is finally over (not to knock the holiday-but it is just no my fav-everything you make for dinner is like half eaten already-mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce. When can we get a holiday where we can just eat pizza and pasta and egg rolls? That would be my kind of holiday...) Christmas is in full bloom! Our tree is up, Emma Clare has seen Santa-and LOVED him (I'll scan the picture in soon) and you better believe that we are listening to nonstop Christmas music in the Mullen's house! WAHOOOO!

In other news-Emma Clare has another tooth! Yay! Now that it has finally popped through, we are all hoping for a little more sleep. I can't remember when she slept for more than 3 hours in a row...momma needs so sleep BAD. Good think she is such a love bug!!

Oh, and for your viewing pleasure...I think Uncle Adam may enjoyed it more than Emma Clare!

 

 



Snack Time!

She is just the cutest! Here is Emma Clare enjoying snack time (who wouldn't want baby mum mums and water?) She is still trying to figure out the sippy cup, I think maybe 1 or 2 drops of water actually got into her mouth.

Emma Clare had a little bit of a rough weekend-we think teething-and did not sleep well Friday or Saturday night (so mommy and daddy are a little bit sleepy...). We are all getting so excited for Thanksgiving and Emma Clare cannot wait to see Grandma Claudia and Uncle Adam on Wednesday!

Chris and Lou Lou wer out of town this weekend, so it was time for just the girls to hang out! We went to the park, shopping, and for lots of walks! Emma Clare has an awful cold right now (and ear infection...what else is new) and was wheezing a ton! The problem is she still doesn't want to sit still, and then wheezes even harder! Poor baby! But she was in great spirits all weekend, and slept pretty well (only getting up once each night) and took great naps. We had a great time, but are excited for Daddy and Lou to be home! 

A Weekend of Fun!

This weekend our friends Michele and Chris came to Savannah. We enjoyed the 70 degree weather and walked around downtown. Then Emma Clare got shot out of a cannon. All in a normal day with the Mullens! (sorry the pick is a little dark, but her face is priceless!) We had a great time!

 On Sunday, EC and I took a trip to the mall so Dad could get some much needed grading done. Emma Clare just propped up her feet and enjoyed the ride! Everyone we passed was laughing at her, what a cuttie! She also discovered yogurt melts this weekend, which she loved. You can see in this picture that she is holding the bag...and she would not let me take it away. Thank goodness she has not figured out how to open the bag yet!

And this is what happens due to the time change. EC turns from a sweet baby, to a man eating baby!Sometimes EC is sweet, and sometimes she is hungry. Watch out Chris! Just gotta love this girl!

Happy Halloween! Emma Clare was a flower...although our friend's son thought she was an eggplant (cutest darn eggplant I've ever seen!) We went trick or treating with our friends, meaning we used Emma Clare as an excellent excuse to get candy. Don't worry, we only took candy from a few houses...

In other news, EC had her first week in her new classroom at daycare. She is no the youngest in her class room (by nearly two months!). I'd love to say she is also the smallest, but that simply is not true. She is doing really well in her new classroom, and is learning a lot! Her crawling is improving (she is getting FAST) and she has started pulling up! I'm totally not ready for her to start walking, so don't even mention it!

Oh, and good thing she is so darn cute because Emma Clare has forgotten that she is supposed to sleep at night. I'm guessing this is due to the 4 teeth she recently got, and it looks like we have a few more coming in! She has been sleeping 8pm-1am then getting up for a bottle and sleeping until around 5 or 5:30 and sometimes I can get her to go back down after that. You would think this would mean more naps during the day, no way José! At least she is not a crab because of it, but momma and daddy are sleepy!

6 Month Check Up

Emma Clare had her 6 month check up on Friday. She is 21.5lbs and 28.5 inches long. So yeah, we are above the 97th% on both. She had to get her shots, which I was terrified of. The last two times she had shots she got an awful fever and just was an unhappy girl all weekend. Not this time! She barely cried when she got all three shots, and was so excited about the bubbles that she didn't cry at all afterwards! Way to go girlie!! The doctor also saw that she STILL has her ear infection, so we are now going on 2 months of this thing! So more antibiotics for Emma Clare. Other than that, she is very healthy, hitting all of her milestones, and just a happy baby!

The picture above was from 6:30am on Saturday. I was still half asleep, so I just set up a bunch of toys and blankets and let her go out it! We are also listening to Christmas music, just to give you a point of reference. She worked really had on her crawling all morning (and all day) and by Sunday night we officially had a crawler on our hands. Guess it is time to start baby proofing the house..

Pumpkin Patch!

Sorry this picture is so dark we took it with Chris' cell phone. But how stinking cute is she! This weekend we went to the pumpkin patch-well we are in GA so the pumpkin patch is kind of lame with just a pumpkins sitting around. We did do a corn maze and go on a hayride though!

In other new, Emma Clare has her first tooth! And her second is just about to poke through. Oh, and she is getting moved up to the next class in daycare. Although she is one of the youngest, she is also the most "active" and they can't contain her any longer in the infant class. They've had to start closing the door because she makes it to the hallway on a daily basis. She is not crawling yet, more of an army crawl/roll combination, but she sure is fast!

Visitng Friends

This weekend Chris and I celebrated 5 years of marriage! I can't believe that it has already been 5 years! We have been very blessed. We went and visited our friends, in Asheville, NC. Sophia (Nichole and August's 6 year old daughter) was a great babysitter!! How cute is our little peanut (ok..maybe not so little).

She Can Sit!

I'm so not good at documenting milestones! Emma Clare has been sitting on her own from about two weeks now, and I keep forgetting to take pictures! If I did not have a camera phone, we would never have any pictures! So here she is sitting! YAY! The top picture is actually after she made herself fall, which she thinks is the funniest thing ever (probably because it gives mom a heart attack! She does not just kind of fall backwards like on her own, she flings herself backwards and laughs...). She's pretty darn cute, right?
