8 weeks old, I can't believe it! Emma Clare is such a love! She loves morning cuddles, checking out the world strapped into her bjorn and stroller walks through the park. We have found that she likes to be out and about during the day-trips to target, the park, anything that gets her out of the house for a bit. Which is good for mom who was starting to go stir crazy! I've taken her out for lunch with friends several times, and she holds it together well!

We have also discovered that Emma Clare usually has a fussy time between 8pm-9pm so we make sure to always be home by then. At 9pm we usually give her a bath and start her night time routine. Most nights she is in bed and sleeping between 10 and 10:30 (depending on bath time) and sleeps until 6 or 7am. We are very lucking parents to be getting all of this sleep, I know! I'm sure it won't last forever, but we are enjoying it now!

On Wednesday Emma Clare will be getting her 2 mo shots. I'm a little nervous, but hopefully she is a champ!

In other news, we are headed to Cleveland next week! We can't wait for Emma Clare to meet our friends and family! I'm a little nervous about the plane ride, so wish us luck! I've been told to try to feed her during take off and landing.

Emma Clare's First Beach Trip

One of the great things about living in Savannah is how close we are to the beach. Emma Clare had her first beach day this weekend! We went to kitefest (basically people flying kites on the beach). She did great, she loves to be outside and I think the sound of the ocean kept her asleep most of the time. Our friends set up an umbrella and we chilled in the shade most of the time. It was a great weekend!

In other news, Emma Clare officially weighs 10.5 pounds and is 22.5 inches long. She is in the 76% for weight and 97th for height. She is getting big!

Wow! I can't believe that Emma Clare is a month old today! The time has gone by fast! I am so happy to be a mother! I'm not going to lie, there have been some difficult days (mainly due to sleep deprivation) but when she looks at me with those big blue eyes, I just melt.

She is getting so big. We have her one month doctor's appointment on Thursday, so we'll have the official stats then. All I know is that her newborn clothes don't fit (she is too long!) and a lot of her 0-3 month clothes are getting short. Other great milestones...Emma Clare has slept through the night the last three nights fro 11pm to around 5/5:30. I'm sure this is not going to last, but it has been so nice to catch up a little bit on sleep! Makes me love her even more!!

2 week check up

Have two weeks already flown by? How crazy! Well our baby girl is growing like a weed. She weighs 8 lbs10 oz and measured 20 1/4 inches. She is looking very healthy and we were told we no longer need to wake her to feed (she had loss about 12 oz before we came home so the wanted us fattening her up. We did a good job!) We also got a prescription for her acid reflux. Poor thing is so unhappy after she eats, so we hope to see some improvement here. Other than that, she is a happy healthy baby!

Mom and dad are also doing well. A little sleep deprived, but that comes with the territory. We are actually getting more sleep than we thought we would...most nights. I am recovering well from my c section due to a lot of help from our moms and Chris. Tomorrow will be my first day alone with Emma Clare...I'm a little nervous but I'm sure we will do great.

Emma Clare has Arrived!

We would like to welcome ms Emma Clare into the world. What a journey! After starting the induction process at 5pm on Sunday, i started have regular contractions around 7am monday morning. However even upping pitocin to 30 (the usually will not go over 20) and having my water broken and trying lots of different positioning techniques (imagine very strong contractions every 2mins and being on your hands and knees with your booty in the air...that wasnt even the worst one) Emma Clare refused to move into position. She was sunny side up aand on a weird angle. So after her heart rate started dropping and my bp we decided on a c section. My doctor was wonderful as were the nurses in labor and delivery and put me at ease as much as possible. So at 6:42 pm Emma Clare was born weighing 8pounds 19 1/2 inches long. We are all doing well and I will update more soon. All i can say is we are completly in love.

Getting the party started!

Well...ms Emma Clare decided to not come on her own. So her we are getting induced. So far so good! We arrived at the hospital at 5 and started cervidal and now just waiting. I've already had some contractions (they even asked me if I wanted something for the pain...I said no...if this is all of the pain I'll have I should be just fine. A girl can dream right?) well that is the update for now. Keep the good vibes rolling.

Summer is quickly wrapping up! Em made the freshman volleyball team--I couldn't be more proud of all the hard work she put in this summe...
