Wow! I can't believe that Emma Clare is a month old today! The time has gone by fast! I am so happy to be a mother! I'm not going to lie, there have been some difficult days (mainly due to sleep deprivation) but when she looks at me with those big blue eyes, I just melt.
She is getting so big. We have her one month doctor's appointment on Thursday, so we'll have the official stats then. All I know is that her newborn clothes don't fit (she is too long!) and a lot of her 0-3 month clothes are getting short. Other great milestones...Emma Clare has slept through the night the last three nights fro 11pm to around 5/5:30. I'm sure this is not going to last, but it has been so nice to catch up a little bit on sleep! Makes me love her even more!!
Enjoy the pics!

2 week check up
Have two weeks already flown by? How crazy! Well our baby girl is growing like a weed. She weighs 8 lbs10 oz and measured 20 1/4 inches. She is looking very healthy and we were told we no longer need to wake her to feed (she had loss about 12 oz before we came home so the wanted us fattening her up. We did a good job!) We also got a prescription for her acid reflux. Poor thing is so unhappy after she eats, so we hope to see some improvement here. Other than that, she is a happy healthy baby!
Mom and dad are also doing well. A little sleep deprived, but that comes with the territory. We are actually getting more sleep than we thought we would...most nights. I am recovering well from my c section due to a lot of help from our moms and Chris. Tomorrow will be my first day alone with Emma Clare...I'm a little nervous but I'm sure we will do great.

Emma Clare has Arrived!
We would like to welcome ms Emma Clare into the world. What a journey! After starting the induction process at 5pm on Sunday, i started have regular contractions around 7am monday morning. However even upping pitocin to 30 (the usually will not go over 20) and having my water broken and trying lots of different positioning techniques (imagine very strong contractions every 2mins and being on your hands and knees with your booty in the air...that wasnt even the worst one) Emma Clare refused to move into position. She was sunny side up aand on a weird angle. So after her heart rate started dropping and my bp we decided on a c section. My doctor was wonderful as were the nurses in labor and delivery and put me at ease as much as possible. So at 6:42 pm Emma Clare was born weighing 8pounds 19 1/2 inches long. We are all doing well and I will update more soon. All i can say is we are completly in love.

Getting the party started!
Well...ms Emma Clare decided to not come on her own. So her we are getting induced. So far so good! We arrived at the hospital at 5 and started cervidal and now just waiting. I've already had some contractions (they even asked me if I wanted something for the pain...I said no...if this is all of the pain I'll have I should be just fine. A girl can dream right?) well that is the update for now. Keep the good vibes rolling.

39 Weeks!
Did you see my countdown? 4 DAYS! Did you hear that Emma Clare, YOU HAVE 4 DAYS!
I had my doctor's appointment yesterday. Emma Clare is still doing very well. Heart rate is in the 140s and the doctor THINKS she flipped back the correct way...we'll see. My BP was good, and I didn't gain any weight this week (so I celebrated with a vanilla milkshake, woot!). I'm still about the same in terms of dilation, but now I'm 50% effaced and she has dropped a bit more. So a little bit of progress has been made. But, our little girl does have an eviction date-April 2nd I'll be going in to get induced. I've continued to measure a week ahead, pretty much the whole pregnancy (there was a point of 2 weeks ahead) so Dr. Hull is ready for her to come...oh wait and so are we! So, I go into the hospital on Sunday night to being the process of induction, and we should have a wonderful, healthy, baby girl by Monday. Prayers are welcomed! I'm still hoping she'll come on her own before then, but if not at least we know in a WEEK our baby girl will be here! YAY!
I also asked the doctor if Emma Clare was going to be 10 pounds...she looked at me, laughed and said we'd be having a very different conversation if she was going to be that big. She is guessing a "healthy" 7.5-8 pounds. We'll see!
So, now we are just in the final stretches of a waiting game! Happy Tuesday! :)

Baby Shower!

Sorry that this post is a little late! I finally got some pictures off of Chris' phone. My wonderful co-workers threw me this beautiful baby shower at work. It stated out by going out to lunch, and ended with yummy cupcakes and beautiful decorations! Do you see all of the attention to detail! Crazy! It was a book themed shower, so we got lots and lots of books, which was prefect because Chris was getting very sick of reading the same three over and over again! We also got our cloth diapers, cute clothes and lots of other lovely things for Emma Clare! I am so blessed to work with such caring people!
As you can see, I'm still pregnant. We've hit 39 weeks this weekend, and needless to say I am ready for Emma Clare to arrive. The good news is that I'm still not horribly uncomfortable, just super hungry and I think I am officially waddling! This weekend we tried to stay really busy to keep our minds off of the fact I am still pregnant, and get the ball rolling. We went on LOTS of walks, ate spicy food (I had ghost pepper salt on my pizza-if that didn't work, nothing will!), went and saw The Hunger Games, had friends over for dinner, cleaned the house, washed all of the cloth diapers, built a raised bed for our garden, went grocery and Target shopping...I think I might be leaving stuff out. Even with all of this, no sign of baby! haha oh well!
I have a doctor's appointment later today, so I'm sure I'll be updating tomorrow! Happy Monday!
