No More Paci!

Ok, yes we are the worst parents. Our 3 year old still had her paci-but only at night. Listen, we don't sleep a lot in our house, so anything to help sleep is a good thing in my book. Last time I tried to take it away-she cried so hard she threw up. I was hoping the dentist would tell me that we had to-nope, he said everything looked fine. I was hoping the doctor would say ditch it-no, she said her speech development was great and that she did not seem to have any confidence issues (no kidding...). So, I decided, heck she won't get married with it, right? So, one night she got out of bed, went to Chris, asked for scissors, cut that sucker up and threw it away. The next night she was a little sad it was missing, but other than that she has been fine! So, for her reward (and to ease the transition) we let her pick out a new build a bear. She loved the whole experience! She has slept with "Pandy" every night since.

In bad news-looks like we will be doing round 2 of tubes-we'll know the final word on Thursday. Boo. But basically more ear infections that never go away no matter how many antibiotics we get in her system. The scary thing is she doesn't even complain about them anymore. Which then makes them get worse, because we don't take her to the doctor. And then the doctor looks at you like how the heck did you know know that her ear is full of pus and inflamed (sorry-to graphic?).

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Ok, anyone else sick of this rain? As you can see from the pics an video below, we are going pretty stir crazy in the Mullen house! Were we able to squeeze painting the inside of Em's new playhouse this weekend (this went about as well as you can imagine having a 3 year old help you paint...but she had a ball!). I'll take pics when we have a more finished product (or if it ever stops raining!). We also got new floors put in our kitchen-what a difference! Happy Monday!

Happy 4th!

Great holiday weekend with an extra day for fun! We were able to hang out with family and friends see fireworks and get started on Em's playhouse/swing set. Summer needs to SLOW DOWN!

First time Em got to see fireworks-she was a little sleepy but loved them! 

Ok, blurriest picture ever but this weekend we started the playhouse/swing set. We got the shed all cleared out (this alone took 5 hours) and got the structure for the swings and finished the platform in the shed (I'll get a picture soon). So, from the platform there will be a slide that comes off (through the door, we'll make it a half door) then underneath we'll have a little play area. Should be pretty cool when all said and done! Chris hopes to have it all done this weekned! 

Vacation!

What can I say! We had a ton of fun in Savannah, and are now exhausted! So good to see friends though!

In one week we are going on vacation! Back to Savannah! I cannot, cannot, cannot wait! This weekend we just spent some good family time hanging out at the Farmer's market, playing in the rain and celebrating Chris' grandpa's 90th birthday! Now, time to push through one more work week for family time!

Fun weekend overall! Saturday we went to Kidsfest downtown and the farmers market. The longer we are in Medina, the more and more I love it! I swear this is something fun to do almost every weekend (and close to home!). So we did that and then went to the playground. We rode our bikes everywhere-it was wonderful! Sunday we spent the better part of the morning cleaning out Chris' classroom (sooo many old books!!) and then afternoon swimming in the backyard. Lots of fun!

Great weekend hanging out with family and friends. Weather was a little cold and rainy Sunday, but we got lots of outdoor time on Saturday! And in GREAT news, Chris has official graduated from his Master's program! We are so proud-he did the whole thing in less than 2 years while working full time and being a great Daddy. Not sure what he is going to do with all of the new free time but I'm sure we'll find lots of house projects to do!
