Ok, I know I've said it already, but I LOVE this age. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! We kicked off Saturday morning with bagels and headed off to the park. It was a perfect crisp, cool morning. Perfect weather for playing. This is the first time we went to the park that I was not a nervous wreck since Emma Clare is starting to understand that she can't just run up to the edge of something and jump off! Although she did go on the "big" playground and decided to go head first down the slide. Good thing I was at the bottom! She smiled at me and said "gain! gain!" Emma Clare spent Saturday night at Nana's and we went downtown for date night (this is one of the best parts of moving back home-people beg to babysit Emma Clare!) Sunday was just a chill day of hanging out at Nana's and letting Lou run around the yard.

Do you like the pictures of EC in the box? That was from a few weeks ago-but the box is one of her new favorite toys. So Christmas is going to be easy....

Girls' Night Out!

Low key, easy breezy weekend. Saturday I scrubbed the house (what joy!) and had girls' night out with friends Kate and Shannon. It was nice to have some time away (although I always miss my baby girl!) and just be able to relax and enjoy good food, good conversation and good drinks! Sunday Chris and Tom went tailgating and to the Brown's game. Chris texted me to make sure EC wore her jersey-he thought it would bring them good luck. Guess he was wrong! My mom and I took EC out to lunch and to Art Fest at Coe Lake. Lots of fun! I finished off my day with a 2 hour nap with EC, glorious! Great weekend!

Is anyone else still trying to get in their groove this week? I feel like I'm just playing catch up! The day off really threw me for a loop (but a good one!) So we had a fun filled weekend-for which I don't have many pictures! We started off our Saturday with a visit from Betsi and Kevin as they drove through on their way to a wedding (throw back to Ashland!). So fun to catch up a bit! Then had a cookout with my side of the family. Emma Clare was the hit of the party (obviously) and enjoyed some serious sprinkler time! Sunday we were off to Nana's to celebrate Grandma's birthday (Happy 62!) and enjoyed great food and family. Monday our friends from Columbus (Mindy, Dereck and Stella) came up to visit. Life with two toddlers-fun but exhausting! They had fun at the park, spashpad and ended the day with ice cream and pizza. What a great weekend!

Having a VERY active 16 month old means that we need to have LOTS of activities planned for our weekends. Because our house cannot handle the tornado that is Emma Clare! But, we also need to be thrifty since Chris and I both decided to work in Education (knew I should have gone to law school...). The great things is that Cleveland has a lot to offer for kids Emma Clare's age that are totally free! Emma Clare has loves going to the splash bad (the one at Crocker Park and the one in Olmsted Falls). She recently found her new love of the block and train table at Barns and Noble's in Crocker Park (although she went with Daddy this weekend and got yelled out for climbing on the table...at that age...). We also love visiting the train in downtown Olmsted Falls  (which usually includes stopping at the cute ice cream store...her cone is free!). Our next mission will be to find more indoor free activities since winter will soon be upon us. So far we've had great luck at some of the local libraries-Mayfield and North Olmsted have great kid areas (I'm sure there are others too!).

Ok, August is just a crazy month for us. Chris is getting back in the the swing of things with school (kids come back next week!), work is super crazy for me with students coming back. And although work is super stressful right now, we love coming home to our happy girl! She is just at such a fun age right now! Enjoy the pics!

I feel so blessed to have this little girl in my life! Everyday just gets better and better! This weekend we kicked it off by joining Mark and Caitlin and the Cuyahoga County Fair (sorry, no pics) where EC got to enjoy some dippn' dots. She loved them! We hung out most of Saturday at Nana's, then Sunday went to the Splash Pad on Olmsted Falls-so fun by the way! We wrapped up the weekend having a photo shoot with Mark and Caitlin and visiting Daddy's classroom. Just a great relaxing, fun weekend!

WOW! What a weekend. Those of you out there who are working moms likely share my plight. I feel like I never get enough time with Emma Clare, so come the weekends we are jam packing all of the fun stuff we'd love to have time to do during the week. I took the day off on Friday and we all went to the zoo. Emma Clare had a blast! She LOVED looking at all of the fishes and turtle and was totally enthralled by the waterfall at the rainforest. I'm so happy we have a membership and can just go to small sections of the zoo at a time, it really allows her to take things in and us not feeling like we need to rush around to get our money worth! EC also got to play with her BFF Elise. To say that EC is in love with her would be an understatement! We rounded the weekend out with some splash pad time at Crocker Park. I have a cute video of this too, I'll try to load later when I have a little more time.
