32 Weeks!

Just had my 32 week appointment. Emma Clare is still doing great! Heartbeat 150 and I'm still measuring 1 week ahead (33 week). Dr. Hull let me know that she won't let me go any longer than 41 weeks, so Emma Clare will be here in less than 9 weeks Yikes!

Good thing we are now super prepared...I mean we did spend 8 hours this Saturday at our prepared childbirth class. Chris left feeling much better, I left pretty much scared to go into labor. I take that back, I am scared of being IN labor for 35 hours. Because that is what they talk about and show you. Good thing my labor will last no more than 6 hours, my baby will sleep through the night and never cry. Right? RIGHT! It was great to see where we would be delivering as well as going over some relaxation and breathing techniques. And Chris had to give me 20 min massage. BLISS! Oh, and I guess we are already bad parents because we have not been reading to our child OR listening to classical music. We do play her music...but it has not been classical. More so Michael Jackson...for those of you who know Chris...

We also were blessed to get 7 HUGE bags and 1 LARGE container of baby clothes this weekend from our friends Dan and Ali. I have a lot of sorting to do! But I think we are now set on clothes until Emma Clare turns 2. YAY!!

In other news, I'm feeling great pregnancy wise. Can still see my feet (may be due to the fact I have really big feet...) and can get around just fine. I do have an awful cold, but I think it is coming to an end. I must say I'm ready to be able to take cold medicine when sick! But if that is my biggest compliant, I guess we're doing ok!

Baby Shower!

Our friends from Chris' school threw us a shower this past weekend. There are 4 women currently pregnant at Chris' school, all with around the same due dates, so we had a shower explosion all together! It was wonderful. Great food (must importantly right?), onesie decorating and more presents than you can imagine! It felt like a crazy Christmas morning when it came time to open! We got lots of wonderful stuff including some books, a diaper bag from my friend Amy (see picture to the right-a favorite present of mine!) and our friend Dan gave us a card that he is going to paint an under the sea mural for us in the nursery. How exciting! We really are blessed to have such great friends. Emma Clare is a very lucky girl to be so loved already!

31 weeks pregnant, still feeling good! Chris and I went on a long walk this weekend, and when we were like a mile from home I realized I was already tired..and still had to walk all the way back. Pour LouLou was forced to walk at a very, very slow pace. I may be slowing down a bit, but other than that, feeling great!

30 Weeks!

Just had my 30 week appointment. It is crazy that I go in ever two weeks now! Emma Clare is doing great, heart rate of 144 and I'm measuring at 31cm, so just a bit ahead. My weight and bp still look good. I'm hoping to only gain 5-8 more pounds, but we'll see. I'm still feeling pretty good! I get a little tired, but haven't had to rest too much more. No swelling and heartburn isn't awful.

This weekend we washed some more clothes and just made sure everything was in order in the nursery. We have a shower with our friends from Chris' work this weekend! So excited! There are actually 4 of us that are pregnant, so it is a super shower! Can't wait!

Oh, and guilty pleasure of the weekend. THE BEST CUPCAKE EVER! There is this little bakery, Just Desserts, down the street from us. They mostly do catering, but when they have leftovers, they sell them. And they were on sale...6cupcakes for $6...yes, we got 6 cupcakes and they were SO GOOD! (we did share a few with friends...)

Weekend Funnies!

So happy that we had a long weekend! It was nice to have an extra day of rest and relaxation! You can see from the post below, that we pretty much finished setting up the nursery. We also took Lou to the park on Sunday and Monday for some nice long walks. She was so tuckered out, that she put herself to bed on Monday around 2pm and we did not see her emerge until about 7pm when I finally gave her dinner. Even then she just ate, went outside and then back to bed for the night.

So my weekend funnies. First, we went to Target this weekend and for the FIRST TIME someone asked me if I was pregnant. I was so excited.! She then asked if we were having a girl. I said yes, how did you know? She said, oh because your belly is still small, girls make you gain everywhere. Thanks lady...I didn't have the heart to break it to her that my butt has ALWAYS been this size!

And funny number two. Twice this weekend while were relaxing on the couch, Chris went to talk to Emma Clare and got kicked in the face by her. Haha! I like her already, she is feisty!!

This weekend we finished setting up all of the furniture in the nursery. We still need a few decorations for the walls, but you get the basic idea! Oh, and there's my belly! Sorry my head is not in the shot (guess we don't have a wide enough lens...) but I promise, my head still looks the same! Enjoy the pictures!!

Third Trimester!

Yesterday I had my 28 week doctor's appointment. This was the dreaded glucose test. It wasn't as bad as I thought! Yes, the drink was super sweet and not eating was hard, but I didn't feel sick, like a lot of people said I would. I don't get the results for a few days, so fingers crossed that it went well!

Other than that, just had the normal weight, bp check, fundal height (30 cm, doctor said anything between 26-30 was normal for now. 1cm per week on average, plus or minus two. I really have no idea what any of this means...). Her heartbeat was 155, and she was moving around like crazy. Could be from the sugary drink...Both mommy and baby are healthy and doing well! YAY! In big news, my doctors appointments now move from every four weeks to every two weeks. This means we are getting CLOSER!

I'm still feeling really good. Not very much swelling as long as I drink plenty of water. I can still move well and have been going on nightly walks with Chris and the Lou. I finally look pregnant, which is very exciting! Don't really have too many complaints, I just really hope this lasts!

Bad, Bad Bloger

I know, it has been a while! But there is just not too much going on! I'm pregnant, hungry and getting larger by the second (although I still have people who are shocked when I tell them I'm pregnant...Really people, did my belly always look this big?!)

We recently had friends in town, Tom and Kate, who helped us start setting up the nursery. This is a very, very good thing. It seriously looked like we needed to on the show Hoarders...
But, the crib is now set up, clothes put away, and everything has its place, almost. We ordered a changing table, so once that comes in and we get it set up, I'll take pictures and post. I'm still feeling pretty good! Slowing down just a bit, but really no complaints yet. I'm sure they are coming though! haha
